Where's Winter ??

Except for a few isolated pockets, snow sports are taking quite the hit so far this winter.

I'm still holding out hope for the snowshoe race I wait for every winter and that's Curly's Record Run in Pittsfield State Forest. If only one race happens this season that should be the one.

Given the lack of good conditions for reviving dormant winter sports I enjoy, I was back out running on the trails this Sunday.
TW suggested the RFT North from Cranberry pond and a small group of us took the bait. Turned out to be a nice rolling two hours of out and back without the need for any traction devices.

Next weekend we're thinking about an out and back on Section 16 of the M&M. Might as well enjoy some bug free, non claustrophobic running while we can.
